Manifesting with the Moon Cycle in 2025

For millennia, women have been working with the moon cycle. From setting intentions with the new moon to manifesting your dreams with the full moon, you can align your intentions and actions with the natural ebb and flow of energy that influences our emotions, intuition and creativity. In short, the moon is a powerful guide for personal growth, transformation, and manifestation.

There are so many ways you work with the moon phases for productivity and personal growth, and it doesn’t have to be complicated! From enjoying simple new moon rituals for clarity and intention, to a full moon manifestation dance party, there are plenty of small, practical activities you can integrate into your monthly routine. Be sure to read through to the end for a full list of all the new moon and full moon dates of 2025 so you can plan your moon manifesting accordingly! You can also book a reading with me if you want to better understand how the moon cycle is showing up for you personally.

The New Moon: A Time for Setting Intentions and New Beginnings

The new moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle when the sky is dark and energy is fertile for new beginnings. This is the perfect time to set intentions, plant seeds for the future, and embrace fresh starts. Every month, the new moon falls in the zodiac sign that the sun is in, bringing the feminine side of that sign’s energy to the month. This gives each new moon a distinct “flavor,” as well as a Sacred Feminine archetype that you can work with!

  • Intentional Rest: Give yourself permission to slow down, disconnect, and recharge before stepping into a new cycle of action. The new moon is about connecting with your inner self and tuning into your intuition.
  • Create a ritual: Light a candle, take a cleansing bath, meditate, and journal about what comes up for you, whether that’s a desire or a limiting belief. It doesn’t need to be complicated—just a simple ritual that aligns with your personal spiritual practice.
  • Set Clear Intentions: Take time to reflect on what you want to bring into your life over the next month, particularly as it relates to the sign the new moon falls in. Write down your goals and visualize them coming to fruition.
  • Align with Your Natal Chart: Each new moon falls in a specific zodiac sign, influencing different areas of life. Look at your birth chart to see where the new moon is activating growth for you, or book a reading with me!
  • Initiate Something New: Whether it’s a starting a new project, cultivating a new habit, or initiating a mindset shift, use this phase of the lunar cycle to take the first step.

My Favorite New Moon Ritual for Rest and Reconnection

Taking a ritual bath or shower is one of my favorite ways to relax and reconnect with my intuition, and it’s super easy to incorporate into your day. Begin by making sure your bathroom is clean, both physically and energetically. After physically scrubbing my tub or shower, I like to burn ethically sourced palo santo or incense (Frankincense cones are one of my favorites for cleansing).

When you’re ready to start your ritual, light a few candles, turn off the lights, and draw a bath or start your shower. I also like to put on a relaxing playlist, like my Sacred Feminine playlist on Spotify.

If you are taking a bath, I absolutely love to select ingredients to add to the bath water that align with the energy of the new moon. Here are my go-to ingredients that I like to mix and match:

  • Salt for purification. I usually use Epsom salt or sometimes pink Himalayan salt if I want to bring more softness to the ritual.
  • Dried or fresh herbs and/or flowers that align with the energy I want to create (this article outlines the flowers that align with each zodiac sign).
  • Natural coloring agents like butterfly pea powder or tea to bring an element of color magic into the ritual.
  • Skin-safe, properly diluted essential oils.

When you are ready to begin, take a moment or two to ground and connect yourself: close your eyes and take a few deep, steadying breaths, feeling the physical connection between you and the earth (the place where your feet meet the earth if you are standing, or your bum if you are sitting). You can even envision roots growing out of your body and reaching deep into the soil underneath you.

Once you feel connected, get into the bath and relax. You can close your eyes and tune into the music, your breathing, or just the feel of the warm water against your skin. Imagine all of your thoughts, stresses, and worries dissolving into the water. Notice what comes up for you during this time, whether it’s a nagging concern or a new idea. You don’t have to do anything except notice it. Soak for at least 15-20 minutes, but no longer than about 40 minutes, before getting out.

If you are taking a shower, you can perform the same ritual, just envision the running water washing away your thoughts and worries down the drain.

After your bath or shower, you can do any of the tasks listed above to work with the new moon energy, including journaling or even pulling a tarot or oracle card/spread for the month.

The Waxing Moon: A Time for Growth and Momentum

As the moon moves from new to full, its energy builds, making this a potent time to focus on taking action and making steady progress toward your goals.

🌔How to Work with the Waxing Moon:

  • Take Inspired Action: Begin working on the intentions you set during the new moon, creating a plan of action to make your dreams a reality.
  • Cultivate New Habits: This is a powerful time to reinforce new routines, practices, and commitments.
  • Embrace Growth Mindset: Overcome resistance and push forward with confidence, even if challenges arise.
  • Expand Your Knowledge: Learn new skills, seek guidance, or engage in personal development to support your growth.

The Full Moon: A Time for Peak Power and Illumination

The full moon is the peak of the lunar cycle—a time of heightened energy, clarity, power, and culmination. It brings illumination, helping us recognize our progress and step fully into our power. This is a moment to celebrate manifestations, amplify your  confidence, and embody your fullest expression.

🌕How to Work with the Full Moon:

  • Take Action: The full moon magnifies energy. Use this time to affirm and reinforce your goals, taking concrete action towards making them happen.
  • Celebrate Your Achievements with a full moon ritual: Acknowledge progress made since the last new moon. Express gratitude for what you’ve manifested. Throw yourself a dance party, brag about yourself to a best friend, or just write down everything you are proud of so you can reference it at any time.
  • Step into Your Power: Recognize your growth and embrace your confidence. This is a time to show up boldly in your career, relationships, or creative pursuits.
  • Charge Your Crystals & Tools: Place your crystals, tarot cards, or other spiritual tools under the full moon to cleanse and recharge them.
  • Align with Your Natal Chart: The full moon’s placement in your birth chart highlights specific themes in your life. Reflect on what is being illuminated and how you can work with it to further your personal or professional goals.

My Favorite Full Moon Ritual

Mirror manifestation is a powerful ritual for self-recognition, empowerment, and stepping fully into your light! It also aligns beautifully with the energy of the full moon! All you need is a mirror!

To begin, create a beautiful space to work in. This can include decorating your vanity if you are in your bathroom, or even setting up a small altar if you are sitting in your bedroom in front of a full length mirror. Dim the lights, light a few candles, and play relaxing music (like my Sacred Feminine playlist). I also recommend wearing something that makes you feel beautiful and sensuous: a silk robe or beautiful dress, or just something that matches the color frequency for the full moon’s zodiac sign).

Sit or stand in front of the mirror and look directly into your eyes. It’s perfectly normal if this feels awkward or uncomfortable, but sit with the discomfort! Breathe deeply and observe yourself with kindness and curiosity rather than judgement. You might notice a lot of thoughts coming up; just notice them and let them pass you by.

When you feel settled, speak your power into existence. Say affirmations out loud, focusing on your confidence, worth, and alignment with the full moon’s energy and where it’s showing up for you based on your natal chart.

For example, you might start with “I see you. I honor you. You are powerful, radiant, and worthy of everything you desire.

Then, personalize it:

  • I make bold moves in my career.
  • I show up fully as myself and that is enough.
  • I am beautiful, inside and out.
  • I am proud of myself for [insert achievement here].

Step fully into your power by moving, dancing, touching your body with love and tenderness, or even masturbating—all in front of the mirror! When you are done, place a hand over your heart and smile at yourself in gratitude. Afterwards, you can take a moonlit walk or dance wildly to your favorite song—something to embody your full power!

The Waning Moon: A Time for Reflection and Release

As the moon transitions from full back to new, its energy encourages slowing down, introspection, and letting go of what no longer serves you. Reflect back on your intentions and the work you you’ve accomplished to determine what was aligned and what didn’t work.

🌖How to Work with the Waning Moon:

  • Release What Holds You Back: Let go of limiting beliefs, habits, or situations that are no longer aligned with your path.
  • Wrap up and Finalize Tasks: Use this phase to bring closure to unfinished work, wrapping up those lingering to-dos so you start the next lunar cycle with fresh clarity and focus.
  • Rest and Restore: Prioritize self-care, relaxation, and inner work to recharge your energy.
  • Reflect on Lessons Learned: Use this time to journal, meditate, and integrate the insights gained during the lunar cycle.
  • Declutter & Simplify: Whether it’s your physical space, digital life, or mental clutter, clearing out the old makes space for new opportunities.

Bringing It All Together: How to Manifest with the Moon Cycle

Working with the moon cycle doesn’t need to be complicated. With a little bit of awareness and intention, you can easily integrate with the natural flow of energy that follows the moon through her journey across the sky.

To fully harness the power of the moon cycle, create a simple monthly practice where you:

  1. Set intentions at the new moon: what do you want to focus on or create?
  2. Build momentum during the waxing moon by embracing growth and expansion.
  3. Celebrate and realign at the full moon with a moment of full self-expression.
  4. Reflect and release during the waning moon to clear space for the next cycle.
  5. Track your growth by keeping a moon journal to observe patterns and deepen your connection to lunar energy.

By working with the moon, you align yourself with nature’s rhythm, making it easier to flow with life’s changes rather than resist them. You also carve out intentional time for rest and reconnection, which is so crucial in our busy, often hectic lives that tend to revolve around constant productivity. Whether you’re seeking career clarity, self-discovery, or confidence in your next steps, the moon’s wisdom is a powerful ally on your journey.
